Forester End of 2011-12 Season Summary
   The Foresters ended their 2011-12 season with 17 wins, averaging 75.3 points a game.  Their high game was 92 points versus St Xavier (Dec 10).  They allowed 72.1 points a game for an average scoring margin of +3.2 points a game.
   They averaged 1.066 points per offensive possession (1.092 in MCC games) and allowed 1.019 points per opponent possession (1.067 in MCC games); that's #2 and #9 among MCC teams.  They provided assists on 53.2% of their field goals this season.
   Huntington was #3 in the MCC with 13.7 assists per game and an assist/turnover ratio of 1.029 overall (1.068 in MCC games) which ranked #3 in the MCC.  The team had assists on 19.4% of their possessions and turnovers on 18.8% of their possessions.
   HU had 34.7 rebounds a game with a rebound margin of +4.00 per game.  That ranked #3 in the MCC.  Their offensive rebounding efficiency was 28.6%; their defensive rebounding efficiency was 74.1% (expressed as percent of opportunity).
   Caleb Kennedy led the team in scoring with 20.3 points a game; Shane Merryman was second with 14.3 points a game; T J Short and Ryan Boester were third with 9.3 points a game.
   Many contributed to the team's success:  25 points or more were scored in a game 7 times by Caleb Kennedy; 20 points or more were scored 26 times by 4 different players; 15 points or more were scored 51 times by 6 different players; and 10 points or more were scored 104 times by 9 different players.
   Outstanding production by the Foresters this season:

   Randall Lowe - 10 points (vs Bethel), 5 boards (vs Bethel)
   Shane Merryman - 21 points (at Taylor), 16 boards (vs Davenport)
   Tyler Palmer - 3 points (vs Mt Vernon), 2 boards (vs OSU-Newark)
   Alec Peterson - 14 points (vs Marian), 10 boards (at Marian)
   T J Short - 20 points (vs St Francis IL), 8 boards (vs St Francis IL)

   The Foresters shot 48.5% from the field, including 38.4% from beyond the arc, and connected on 73.9% of their free throws (#4 in the MCC).  They held opponents to 45.1% from the field overall, including 35.5% from three-point range.
   In MCC Conference games, HU shot 50.4%, including 41.4% from beyond the arc.  They made 73.3% of their free throws (#4 in MCC games).  They held MCC opponents to 46.3% from the field, including 38.4% from three-point range.
   Shane Merryman was the field goal percentage leader at 59.0% (2 att/gm min).  Shane also led in three-point shooting at 41.7% (1 att/gm min).  Nick Teeter had the best free throw percentage with 88.0% at the line (1 att/gm min).
   Forester rebounding was led by Caleb Kennedy with 8.6 per game.  Shane Merryman had 8.1 boards a game; Alec Peterson averaged 3.8 rebounds.
   The assist leader was Ryan Boester at 3.4 a game.  Caleb Kennedy was second in assists with 2.26 a game, and Shane Merryman was third with 2.03 assists per game.
   Shane Merryman and Caleb Kennedy led with 9 double doubles  Alec Peterson had 30 blocks in 30 games.  Ryan Boester had 25 steals this season.
   Coach Ty Platt's Record at HU is now 74-51 (59.2% wins) overall, 32-39 (45.1%) versus MCC teams.
