  St Francis was 17-14 overall last season; 8 players returned for this season.  The Cougars finished 4th in the MCC with a 5-11 record; they lost to Spring Arbor in the first round of the MCC Tournament last season.  They were last at the NAIA National Tournament in 2007.

The MCC Coaches poll predicted a third place finish for the Cougars this season.

Coach Jeff Rekeweg is in his 14th season at USF.  He is a two-time MCC Coach of the Year and tied an NAIA national record with 20 consecutive wins in the 1999-2000 season.
