| Doug Sheckler was named to an All-MCC Team each of his four years at Huntington. In his freshman year, Doug averaged nearly 12 points and 4 rebounds a game, despite nagging injuries, shooting over 50% from the field while getting one block per game. As a sophomore, he repeated those scoring and rebounding averages, getting 2 blocks and 1 steal per game. As a junior, he averaged 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals per game, with a 1.60 assist/turnover ratio. As a senior, Sheckler averaged 18.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 1.1 steals per game with a 1.67 assist/turnover ratio. He was #3 in the MCC in blocks per game, double doubles, and defensive rebounds per game. He shot 53.6% from the field, 38.8% from 3-point range, and 74.3% at the line. Sheckler was named to the 2007-08 NAIA All-American First Team, the All-MCC First Team, and MCC Player of the Year. |

Sheckler was from Columbia City, IN. He was a four-year starter at Columbia City HS and a three-year All-NHC (Northeast Hoosier Conference) player, averaging 15.5 points and 5.2 rebounds, while shooting 57% (48% beyond the arc). As a HS senior, he led the Eagles to a 25-4 record and the Class 4-A Championship game. Sheckler concluded his career at Columbia City as the school's career field goal leader at 56%. Doug was an outstanding leader of the team for the 2007-08 season. He majored in Elementary Education while at Huntington. |
