Chase Verba scored over 1,211 points as a Forester, frequently exciting the crowd with a fast-break slam dunk. He was one of the best defensive players on the team and always the fiercest competitor. He played every position as a senior, averaging 5.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and a 1.4 assist/turnover ratio, shooting 54.7% from the field. As a senior, Verba averaged 5 points and 5 rebounds a game, getting 10 points or more in 11 games and a high of 14 points (vs St Francis) and 10 rebounds (vs KY Wesleyan). His career highs were 21 points in the 2004 NAIA tournament and 12 rebounds versus Bethel. As a senior, Chase shot 55% from the field, including 50% from three-point range. |

Verba received MCC All-Conference honors four years in a row. He ended his Huntington career at #23 on the all time scoring list. He is now an assistant coach of the 2008-09 Foresters. Chase was from Angola High School where he averaged 18.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game as a senior. He was selected to the All-NCC (Northeast Corner Conference) team three years in a row, and led the Hornets to the NECC Championship game as a senior. Chase was an Honor Roll student at Angola HS and is a Business Management major at Huntington University. |
