Austin Karazsia
|
Austin Karazsia will be a senior on the Forester roster in 2016-17. Austin transferred from the University of South Alabama to Huntington University in 2015. Last season, Austin topped the team with a 90.2% free throw percentage and ranked 2nd on the team in rebounds (5.0 per game). He was 4th in scoring (7.8 per game) and field goal percentage (46.9%). Austin also averaged 0.8 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 0.2 steals per game. His high games included 25 points versus Judson, 10 rebounds at Morthland, and 4 blocks at Taylor. While at Linton-Stockton, he scored 1,342 points and had 766 rebounds in his high school career, setting records for blocks in a game (6), in a season (54), and in a career (145). |

As a freshman at South Alabama, Karazsia saw action in 22 (of 33) games, averaging 1.5 points and 1.1 rebounds with limited playing time. His high in games played was 6 points (twice) and 4 rebounds. He shot 39.3% from the field, 21.4% from three-point range, and 63.6% at the line. As a sophomore last season, Austin played in 21 (of 33) games, averaging 6.8 minutes a game, scoring 22 points and gathering 21 rebounds. He shot 38.1% from the field, 40.0% from long range, and 33.3% at the line. Understandably, Karazsia comes to Huntington looking for more playing time. With the graduation of Alec Peterson last season, the height, size, and experience of Karazsia on the court should be useful. |
