In 2004, he was named to the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 100 and was also selected for the Midwest Sports Publishing All-Indiana Third Team.

Henry was recruited by Bethel College and enrolled there as a freshman out of high school, but a combination of injuries caused him to miss the entire 2004-05 season.

In fall of 2005, Henry started the first eight games for Bethel, averaging 9.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists as a starter. However, he was unable to play the next 3 games and saw only limited action the next 6 games. He left Bethel in January 2006.

Blaise was enrolled at Indiana University last semester and, after transferring credits from the two schools, will be an academic junior next semester. By NAIA rules, he has three seasons of basketball eligibility remaining.

The Huntington selection was a result of two things: first, a desire to play basketball again; second, discussions with a high school friend who played baseball at HU.

It was August of this year when his choice was made and, as he describes it, things moved fast. "Within about two weeks from contacting the school I decided I was going to HU. The direction of my life changed in just a few days."

Henry says he spent a good part of this past summer working out and getting ready for basketball again. If he wasn’t working out, he was playing in a summer league (scored 60 points in one game) or working on the job at Dave’s Diesel in Angola.

Blaise has an older sister living in California, a younger sister starting her first year of college, and a younger brother who is still in elementary school. His dad played college basketball at Michigan (1967-70).

Adjustments to school are going well. He says he’s enjoying everybody on the team and can’t wait for basketball to get started this fall. He says, "I'm happy with where I am now, and I am really excited about the next 3 years here at Huntington."

Blaise will be majoring in Exercise Science and figures his toughest course this fall will be chemistry. We must admit, chemistry sounds tougher than beginning guitar.

Kyle Johnson spent his summer working out, helping at the HU Basketball Camps, working a job, and playing some basketball.

Kyle’s family moved from Kendallville to Greenwood last year, right after he started college at HU. His dad is now head coach at Whiteland Community High School.

Kyle has a younger sister in the 9th grade at Whiteland. She certainly follows the family’s athletic tradition by being active in volleyball, basketball, softball, and track.

Johnson played in 13 games last season, racking up 14 points (12 from long range), getting 7 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 35 minutes of court time. We are told that he’s added some muscle this summer and wants to see more action this season.

Kyle says he’s really looking forward to his second season with the team; he expects them to do well again this year.

Kevin Kyle had a busy summer: a trip to Alaska, camping and fishing in Canada and Minnesota, working out, working the HU Basketball Camps and playing in whatever pick-up games he could find.

Kevin has an older brother at Ball State and a younger sister, Kelly, who is a freshman at North Montgomery and active in tennis and volleyball. Kevin’s dad is a middle school teacher in the Crawfordsville area.

Kevin had an outstanding season as a freshman, playing in every game and logging over 400 minutes on the floor.

Kevin had a high game of 10 points versus Marian last season, and pulled down 12 rebounds in a game versus Spring Arbor. He was second on the team (behind Alex Kock) in rebounds per minute last season, and was second (behind Kyle Ganton) in fewest turnovers per minute played. That’s keeping pretty good company, Kevin.

Kevin is glad to be back and excited about the coming season. His first year at HU went well and he looks forward to the second. He says his toughest class will be Business Organization this semester.
