Season Outlook . . .
continued page 1

The offensive firepower of this team won’t be lacking, despite the graduation of four players who combined for over 5,000 points at HU.

Sheckler and Benge each had games of over 25 points last year; Smith and Kyle both scored over 10 points or more in at least one game. But, individual scoring aside, the trademark of a Platt-coached team is teamwork and this year’s team will be no exception.

THE 2007-08 SCHEDULE
Each year, Coach Platt not only recruits the best players and molds them into a winning team, but the Foresters also schedule the toughest opponents they can find. "There’s a core group of teams out there that post winning records year in and year out. We try to play as many of those teams as we can," says Coach Platt.

Of the 15 non-conference opponents on this year’s schedule, 10 of them had winning records last season and 6 of them are NAIA D1 schools. The combined record of those non-conference opponents was 261-175 last season (a 60% win ratio). The total schedule has 15 opponents and 67% had winning records last year. Three of the five who didn't are avoidable; they're part of the MCC Conference.

MCC COACHES PREDICTION
Unlike the past couple of years, the Foresters were not picked #1 by the MCC Coaches Preseason Poll. Rather, they were picked to finish #4 this season, but you can be sure that doesn’t discourage anybody on this team. It just gives them something to prove.

No doubt about it. The Forester Nation will be loud and proud again this season!
