ALEX NAFZIGER (6'5, 195)

Alex Nafziger comes from Pettisville High School (Pettisville, OH), where he averaged 18.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.9 assists a game for the Blackbirds last year, while shooting 58% from the floor. He scored 35 points and 7 rebounds in a big win over Fayette, and he scored over 20 points in several other games last season.

Nafziger was named Player of the Year in the Buckeye Border Conference and the Player of the Year in District VII of Ohio.

Nafziger He was selected AP All-Northwest District Division IV First Team and he received All-State Special Mention as well.

Nafziger was also nominated for the Wendy's High School Heisman.

As a junior, Alex had 17 points a game, earning a place on the AP All-Northwest District team, as well as being named Buckeye Border Conference First Team.

As a sophomore, Alex was also a Buckeye Border Conference selection and received Ohio District VII Honorable Mention.

Pettisville captured its fifth consecutive conference title, going undefeated (10-0) in conference play last season and finishing the season as District Runners-Up.

Nafziger was a three-year varsity letterman in basketball, four-year letterman in soccer, and a pitcher on the baseball team.

Alex was also a leader in the classroom and in student affairs at Pettisville HS. He was Class Valedictorian, National Honor Society member, and Student Council President.

Nafziger plans to continue his basketball career at Huntington while studying to become a math teacher, and looking for an opportunity of being a coach or an athletic director someday.

 
TYLER SHIVELY (6'1, 165)

Tyler Shively, a graduate of Columbia City HS (3A) will follow his older brothers Trevor and Trent to HU as a Forester next season.

A three-year basketball starter at Columbia City HS (3A), Tyler averaged 16.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game for the Eagles as a senior, while shooting 50.9% from the field, including 42.4% from three-point range.  He had over 20 points in several games last season, including 29 points versus Elkhart Central.

Tyler is an excellent free-throw shooter. He averaged 87% as a senior and holds the Single Game Free Throw Percentage record at CCHS, making 12 of 12 in the Elkhart Central game.  As a junior, he averaged 11.7 points a game; as a sophomore it was 8.3 points a game.  Shively finishes his HS career with 802 points and 168 assists.

Shively Shively was a Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 40 workout alternate and played in the Indiana East-West All-Star game.

Tyler is a two-time All-NHC First-Team selection and a top vote-getter in the Northeast Hoosier Conference this past spring.

He was also named 21-Alive Player of the Week and named to the All-Northeast
Indiana First Team by the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. He also received Honorable Mention from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association and won the Team Defensive Award and the Most Assists Award at CHSS. As a junior, he was an IHSAA Showcase Player, as well.

Shively was also a three-year starter for the baseball Eagles. The shortstop had a .386 batting average last season and was an All-NHC First Team selection this spring.

Tyler will pursue business and accounting at Huntington University.
