Huntington takes the MCC Title and Wins the Tournament

HUNTINGTON CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS 
The Foresters captured the MCC Conference Title with a 13-3 record this season. Over the past 8 years, just one
team has made it through the Conference schedule with less than three losses and that was Huntington in 1999-00 when the MCC had just eight teams.

Huntington tied with Taylor for the MCC Title but handed the Trojans a 68-44 whipping in the tournament. HU has won a piece of the Title 6 times in the past 8 years, but only in 1999-00 was the Title not shared.

Awards and Recognitions
Six Foresters Earn Recognition in Post-Season Awards

ALL-NAIA SELECTIONS 
Alex Kock was named NAIA All-American First Team and NAIA All-Tournament Team. In the 5 NAIA tournament games, Alex averaged 24.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steals. Kock ranked 10th in the NAIA in scoring and 12th in defensive rebounding.

Kyle Ganton was named NAIA All-American Second Team amd NAIA All-Tournament Team. In 5 NAIA tournament games, Kyle averaged 15.6 points and 5.6 rebounds; 1.4 assists and 0.4 steals. Ganton ranked 4th in the NAIA in three-point percentage and 5th in free throw percentage.

Chase Verba received the NAIA Champions of Character Award. Chase averaged 3.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists in the five NAIA tournament games. He had 2 blocks versus MidAmerica Nazarene in the tournament.

Doug Sheckler received the 2006 NAIA All-Tournament Hustle Award. Doug averaged 13.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks a game in the 5 NAIA tournament games. He ranked 20th in the NAIA this season with 1.74 blocks per game.

ALL-MCC SELECTIONS 
Alex Kock was named MCC Co-Player of the Year and named to the All-MCC First Team. Alex led the MCC in scoring with 21.2 points a game and his 8.4 rebounds a game was second in the MCC. He had 11 double doubles with high game marks of 35 points and 18 rebounds.

Kyle Ganton was named to the All-MCC Second Team. Kyle averaged 18.0 points and 6.5 rebounds a game, leading the team in 3-point shooting percentage at 49.7% (a new Huntington record). He had 4 double doubles with high games of 33 points and 14 rebounds.

Doug Sheckler was named to the All-MCC Third Team, averaging 11.9 points and 4.1 rebounds, with 1 double double and high games of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Kyle Benge was named to the All-MCC Newcomer Team. Benge averaged 10.2 points and 2.7 assists a game as a freshman this season. He scored 20 points is three games this season and had 6 assists versus St Xavier.

Seniors Chase Verba and Steve Snider earned All-MCC Honorable Mention. The two wrapped up great careers at Huntington, both scoring over 1,200 points and receiving MCC recognition every year they played.
