The Foresters and the MCC
Huntington Fighting for First in the MCC Conference

FOUR DOWN AND TWELVE TO GO

As Christmas approaches, the Foresters hold 2nd place in the MCC with a 3-1 conference record and a #7 rating in the national NAIA D2 polls (as of Dec 7).

Overall, Huntington has 10 wins and 3 losses as this issue
goes to press.  The 3 losses have come on the road (and by a total of just 16 points).

Early in November, the Foresters defeated IPFW (NCAA D1), 72-64 in Fort Wayne.  Later that month they defeated Georgetown, the #5 rated NAIA D1 team, by 16 points in Huntington.

Meet-the-Team Dinner Report
Second Annual Dinner and Auction Meets its Goals

FULL COURT PRESS FOR THE FORESTERS

People apparently know that the Forester basketball program depends upon the generosity of its fans because the second annual Meet-the-Team Dinner and Auction was a huge success again this year.

The donations and bidders were sufficient to meet all expectations, with nearly 350 people jammed into the North Star Civic Center to help support the finest basketball program in Indiana.

The annual Dinner and Auction, along with a summer Golf Outing, corporate sponsorships and individual donations, help provide funds to put this program on equal footing with other schools in the MCC and the NAIA.  Huntington may be one of the smaller schools, but its fans must have some of the biggest hearts when it comes to providing scholarships to deserving players.

And you don't need to wait for a dinner or a golf event to help out.  Just write a check to “Huntington University” in any amount and send it directly to Coach Steve Platt at the Huntington University Intercollegiate Athletic Office, 2303 College Avenue, Huntington, IN 46750.  That will ensure that your donation is designated for the men's basketball program.  Help a deserving student get a quality education at a quality school.
