place (out of ten participants). Just one question: if your animal collapses and you don’t get last place, what exactly did the last place animal do to deserve that honor?
Welcome back Kyle. We certainly wish you more success on the basketball court than you had at the 4-H show.

JAMES HAIFLEY - Junior
James enters his junior year at Huntington bigger and stronger than last year, if that’s possible. He spent the bulk of his summer operating a lawn and landscape business with his brother Ben, who’ll be a freshman this year and is also on the team.
This business affords James the experience of running a small business, which knowing the entrepreneurial spirit that runs in his family, will serve him well in life.
He also had the opportunity to take part in a family vacation to Sanibel Island, Florida. This was no small task; they were headed to Florida just after hurricane Ivan hit.
They were forced to alter their travel plans, first flying into northern Florida then making the long trek to Sanibel. They were, however, more than happy to make the drive as they were originally concerned the trip would need to be canceled. Beyond that, the trip was tame and uneventful, offering welcome rest and relaxation.
James, we look forward to watching you earn another “Mr. Hustle” award this year. Welcome back and keep up the hard work.

ALEX KOCK - Junior
Alex also returns bulked up from an off season of working out; are you noticing a trend here? It’s obvious the hard work has paid off for him, too. Basketball was the focus of his summer, plus having some fun.
Alex was also best man at his older brother Aaron’s wedding this summer. We hear he did a great job with the customary toast (it was sparkling grape juice, of course).
After the preparation, Alex is ready to get the season started now. Alex agrees that they have something to prove in the MCC this year and there’s no doubt he will play a big role in doing just that.

Alex is working on his degree requirements in physical education and with courses like Rhythmics, Tumbling and Gymnastics, we know he’ll be working real hard.
While Alex is known as a soft-spoken and quiet individual (preferring to let his actions on the court speak for themselves), don’t let that fool you. He can be as gregarious as anyone. I’ve had the privilege to spend time with him and discovered he’s a well-thought individual who has much to offer the HU community as well as the team.
Welcome back, Alex, we all look forward to making some noise as you charge through the 2005-2006 season.

SETH LOCHMUELLER - Junior
This may come as a shock to some, but Seth got a job this summer, working at the Spiece Field House. The best (or worst) aspect of the job was the fact that he had to be up at 6:00 AM. For this night owl that’s no small requirement. Fortunately, I can report he made it through that grueling experience and is back to having fun again.
Seth was more than ready to get back to Huntington and set up his apartment in Forester Village this fall. This might have something to do with the fact that he no longer has a bedroom at his parent’s house (that’s getting over the empty nest quickly).
Seth and his roommates (Alex, Jared and Todd) threw themselves whole heartedly into getting the apartment setup according to their taste and preferences. We can only hope they manage to keep it neat, clean, and picked up (if you know Seth, you know that will likely be no small task).
Seth was unable to make it through the summer without adding a couple more injuries to his list. During the Harlan Days tournament, Seth got into a scuffle with a fence and the fence got the better of it all, leaving a scar on his backside.
Seth also had a run-in with someone’s elbow during open gym. Fortunately, there was no concussion this time. I was on site for both of these incidents and will be happy if Seth can make it through this season injury free; I can’t take many more of these events.
