SUPPORT THE FORESTERS

|
The next event is the 11th Annual Summer Golf Outing on July 16. To make reservations or receive more information, call the HU Athletic Office at: (260) 359-4212. Grab your clubs and go out for a drive . . . a drive for the Green!
If you don't golf, or even if you do, you can also donate with a check payable to Huntington University. Just enter "Men's Basketball" on the memo line and then send it off to: Head Coach Steve Platt, Huntington |
University, 2303 College Avenue, Huntington, IN 46750.

If you run a business, consider corporate sponsorship. Opportunities exist at several levels throughout the year and Forester fans will take special note of your business. For more information, call Steve Ness at: (260) 356-3911 and he'll provide the options and necessary details.
In whatever way you are able, help provide college scholarships to deserving players and support a highly successful basketball program.

These New Players Provide Some Outstanding Talent
DEPTH PROBLEM DISAPPEARS
If the Foresters had any problem last season, it was having enough players for a practice session. But that problem won't repeat itself this next season. The Foresters will be deeper and stronger.
Here's a quick look at the new players joining the team next season. (For more information about active players, visit The Foresters Roster and Profiles page.)

KYLE BENGE (GUARD, 6'2, 185)

 |
Kyle Benge is an All-State player from Plymouth High School (3A State Finalists). Kyle was the second-leading scorer in the State, averaging 26.8 points. He also averaged 3.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals a game.
Benge shot 54% from the field, including 42% from beyond the arc (84 of 200), and hit over 80% at the free throw line.

|
Benge scored a high of 44 points versus Peru last season and surpassed Scott Skiles as the career scoring leader at Plymouth with 1,979 career points.
|
|
Kyle is a quick guard with great ball-handling and passing abilities. He'll be a threat to score from anywhere on the floor. He will be a contributor for the Foresters.

NATE BERON (GUARD, 6'2, 175)

Nate Beron comes to HU from Bremen High School, a starter the past two seasons. As a senior, Nate averaged 11.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists.
Last season, he posted 26 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 5 blocks and 1 steal in a win over LaVille, while shooting 60% in from the field (including 50% beyond the arc) and 86% at the line.

|

 |
Nate will be a great addition to the team and he is an outstanding scholar, as well. The Foresters are always happy to have smart ballplayers.

TODD DALE (FORWARD, 6'2, 200)

 |
Todd Dale is a 2003 graduate of Southwood High School, who attended Manchester HS prior to his senior year.
Dale's been a student at Huntington for the past two years and worked out with the team this spring; this season will be his first as a player.
Todd was a starter at Southwood and Manchester HS and was an |
All-Conference player at both schools. He averaged 15.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals a game as a senior, hitting nearly 90% at the free throw line. He had 21 points in a game versus Peru.
We welcome Todd to the Forester line-up. Todd will be an academic junior; he'll have three years of basketball eligibility but likely will not try to use them all.

BEN HAIFLEY (FORWARD, 6'3, 195)

Ben Haifley joins the Foresters after attending Homestead High School (Fort Wayne). A two-year starter and All-Conference selection, Ben averaged 10.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
Haifley had a great game in the Sectional versus Snider, scoring 21 points, pulling in 13 rebounds and dishing out 7 assists.

|

 |
Ben is another excellent student and will join his brother James Haifley at Huntington next season. He's a big tough kid with a good outside shot, as well.
