FORESTER BASKETBALL

Huntington basketball has been on the rise over the past ten years, a success that has been due to combined efforts of the players, the coaches and the fans alike.  And this story is about a person who has been all three:  Ryan Ripke.

Aside from Coach Platt, Ryan has probably put more hours into the program over the past 10 years than anyone else.

The passion he has displayed for the school and the men's
Ryan Ripke
basketball program stands second to none.

THE HUNTINGTON DECISION

Even though Ryan was not born a Hoosier, he joined three Hoosiers in one of the most powerful recruiting classes in HC history.  Rip was already familiar with Huntington because his sister played for the women's team and she was engaged to Galen Mast (1993-1995).

Ryan says, "I chose HC because Coach showed a lot of interest and I knew it was genuine.  I liked the straight-forward answers that I received when talking to Coach.  I just felt like HC was where I was supposed to be."

BASKETBALL RECORD HOLDER

Ryan Ripke During Ryan Ripke's tenure as a player, he usually starred coming off the bench.  But whenever #35 was called, Ryan was ready.

While he may not hold a record for having the most points, the most assists or the most rebounds, he does hold a record . . . but he's disgusted by it.

Ryan fouled out in his final game against Bethel after just 7 minutes on the floor!  "It still makes me sick to this day," he says.  "But I guess we all know how the refs can be sometimes."
