Going to Branson?

NAIA National Tournament in March

Branson Hot-Line: (260) 359-4333

Planning a trip for over 100 people is a challenge, and when NAIA tournament time comes, the Alumni Office needs to do it all in a week.  The first question is, "Are we going?" and we may not know for sure until a week before it happens.  So, to help with planning, there will be a hot-line this year to call to learn if HC is going to Branson and, if so, what accommodations are being planned.  The Branson Hot-Line will operate from February 18 through March 9.  Call (260) 359-4333.

HC Basketball Highlights

Jeff was a four-year standout at Huntington, averaging
21.2 points a game in his playing career.  He's the second all-time leading scorer at Huntington with 2,565 points.  Just like the Coach, he never saw a shot he didn't like.

Shep was a two-time honorable mention All-American and, in his senior year, he was the MCC Player of the Year, as well as a First-Team NAIA All-American.

As you know, Jeff was an accomplished player, and he's an even neater individual.

Where Is He Now?

Jeff is a sales representative for Codman Surgical, a division of Johnson & Johnson.  Based in Indianapolis,
Shep 2004 he sells surgical and medical devices in all of Indiana.  The sales world fits Jeff to a "T" because it's all about hard work, and if you ever saw Shep play you alread know the competitiveness and the intensity of this man.

"I owe much of my business success to the great staff of professors
at Huntington College who prepared me for the intense world of sales," Shepherd says.  "I also owe it to athletics for preparing me in ways that no book could: in self-motivation, drive, hard-work, dedication, and commitment."

Most Memorable Moment at HC

Jeff's junior year might have been his most important because he met an innocent, freshman girl that would actually date him!

Jeff remembers the moment quite well.  "We met eyes the first day of classes, and the rest is history." Jeff and Betty (Salladay) Shepherd have been married for 3-1/2 years.  They have a two-year-old daughter, Caroline Elizabeth, and they are expecting their second
